Creating in the Space
Hey guys! This is Creo Studios first ever blog post and i’m so excited to begin this journey with you all. This is a “not so introductory” blogpost since we are introducing the space once it’s finished.
Cam (co-founder) and I came to an agreement I need new pictures for my own business and this website. He had the idea to use his continuous lighting, my optical spot, fog machine and gels to produce a hazy, spotlight look.
This was the first ever photoshoot we’ve shot in the new studio, so it of course had to feature a little bit of the space. We ended up doing this “look” at night and utilized any surrounding street lights to our advantage in the photos (shown above).
We ended up going for a vintage film look, adding some modern touches and giving it a whole vibe. For the editing, I knew I needed to achieve this effect as much as possible, working with exposure, grain, and tone curves. This was the final outcome on this photo.
Moreover, this was one of the ways to best utilize this space… Creating in this space is endless: At night, you have the city lights. On a sunny day, the natural light is radiant and makes everything bright in the space. On a cloudy/rainy day, you get a whole moody vibe. Even if you use the space, you can use studio lighting and a backdrop to achieve your desired look.
It’s times like these when I realize how awesome it is to be a creator, especially in a place like this. We want this space to be super diverse in all things video and photo. This space is meant to create hence the name Creo which is latin for Create.
I’m definitely going to get into blogging more for this space, there’s so much going on and so many cool things happening that it would be a shame to not talk about. We’ll be featuring guides, tutorials, ideas, stories, and shout out creators in this space with these blogs. We want everyone to be apart of the Creo community as much as possible. With that being said, give us a follow on instagram (@creostudiolouisville), we’ll be joining Tik Tok and YouTube super soon as well!
My final word for all creatives, try anything for your shoots. Go above and beyond, go simple and beautiful. I encourage you to create in all conditions no matter what! The possibilities are endless at Creo Studios.
